         Lisa Randall

Getting the Competitive Edge in Holistic Therapies - Marketing Tips and Tricks

 

Presentation Overview: Marketing is an essential business tool that you need to implement to reach your potential clients and share with them the benefits of the services you are offering. Lisa will outline some of the reasons why small businesses should invest in marketing activities, and will provide insights into how businesses in the holistic and natural therapies industry can be more effective in their marketing reach.

 

Speaker Profile: Lisa Randall is a highly skilled and long practicing therapist, trainer and business person who specialises in massage, body work, yoga, fitness, dermal therapies and nutrition.

After a 30+ year career working in Public Relations and Marketing roles in both the USA and Australia, she shifted gears into the wellness industry in 2010 which eventually led her to opening an award-winning Day Spa. She is also a qualified Trainer/Assessor and is currently delivering Cert III, Cert IV and Diploma courses via Registered Training Organisations within Brisbane.

Lisa's aim as a serving Board member is to assist others who are emerging in the wellness and small business spheres by providing leadership and being a mentor where possible.

In particular she is focused on developing programs and policies that will help members with their knowledge and practical skills in regard to delivering world class treatments and services, whilst improving their business skills and entrepreneurial opportunities.

In addition to holding a Master of Arts (Communication) and Bachelor's Degree in Journalism/Marketing, Lisa is qualified with a Remedial Massage Diploma, Beauty Therapy Diploma, Cert III Business, 350-hour Yoga Teacher Training, Cert IV Training & Assessment  and more in her downtime she enjoys teaching hot yoga, spending time with her family and pets and travelling to interesting cultural destinations.

RockTape blended training course

 

Presentation Overview: This course will be conducted in two parts: a 90-minute online theory module and a 4.5 hour face-to-face practical taping session. 

Conference attendees will receive access to the online theory module one month before the scheduled face to face course which will be held at this year’s conference. The online module will include:  

  • An introduction to kinesiology taping
  • How it works
  • Principles of application
  • Research overview

 

The face-to-face component delivered at the conference will be entirely practical and include the following applications:

  • Regional taping - individual muscles and joints
  • Oedema taping
  • Taping to cue posture/position

 

Attendees will receive from RockTape:

  • a copy of the presentation slides.
  • enough RockTape to use during the course and some to take home to practice your new skills later.
  • a certificate on completion (need to complete both online and face to face components).

 

Speaker Profile: Heidi is a passionate Women's health and Dance physio and loves making positive and meaningful changes in her patients' lives. 

She has extensive experience in both the public and private sector and worked as a Senior Women's Health physiotherapist in pre and postnatal, OASI and urogynaecology Pelvic clinics at GCUH, as well as working in the first Endometriosis clinic in Gold Coast. As a previous dancer, dance teacher and dance physio, she endeavoured to learn how she could lift her leg up higher and push her body in a safe and anatomical manner. Naturally, she started treating more females, pelvis and hips and stumbled across her calling into the world of women's health physiotherapy.

She is the owner of Femme Physiotherapy and Wellness - a physiotherapy and wellness clinic in Gold Coast that helps Women and Dancers reach their full potential - supporting them through discomfort, injury and life changes.

She believes in health advocacy and treats Dancers and Women nationwide face to face and through telehealth, and runs national educational workshops for Dancers, Dance Teachers and Health Professionals. Self-sufficiency, empowerment and growth are the pillars in which she runs her workshops, with the goal for all attendees to “Be their own physio” and learn to maximise their potential.

Speaker Profile: Having a unique background being a dual-masters qualified Physiotherapist and Osteopath, as well as being an S + C Coach and Personal Trainer, Stephen is aware of the key issues health and fitness professionals around the world face.

As the Director of Movement Assessment Technologies, Steve has trained over 20000 health and fitness professionals around the world.

Visceral Massage: The Mind-Gut link and the massage therapist’s role in therapy

 

Presentation Overview: Visceral massage focuses on the most complex and miraculous parts of our anatomy; the internal organs of our body, or as it can be described, the Gut.

Visceral massage is at the cutting edge our therapeutic clinical practice employing unique palpatory hands-on techniques from Western and Eastern traditions. Greg will cover these techniques, appropriate draping, clinical environment and the essential emotional component attached to this healing massage treatment.

 

Speaker Profile: Greg Morling has been a remedial massage therapist for over 35 years. He has lectured and given many workshops Internationally and locally over that time. He is published widely in Britain and Europe, writing and lecturing on a broad range of topics including research methods for complementary therapists, visceral massage, the iliopsoas, headaches and successful, innovative approaches to treating musculoskeletal disorders. He has developed massage and various treatment protocols for leading Spas in Australia and guided many groups of therapists to international destinations in order to learn new massage styles. He has deep respect for the medicines of indigenous cultures, especially those of our First Peoples. Greg believes that ‘care’ is at the heart of massage therapies irrespective of the approach.
