The minimum requirement to qualify for accreditation with most of the health funds is Diploma in Remedial Massage. Currently there are only three health funds that accept the Certificate IV qualification, the others require a Diploma of Remedial Massage.
To qualify you need to have completed your course at a Registered Training Organisation ( RTO ) and have a HLT number (HLT 50302, HLT 50307, HLT 40302 or HLT 40307) and current Level 2 First Aid Certificte.
The Health Funds require that you also supply a copy of your current insurance, which the MAA can assist you with, as we have links with "IH Group" www.iihgroup.com.au which give discounted rates to our members so we can help you to become accredited.
Don't forget that for practising massage therapists, these costs are claimable on your taxation returns.
Health Funds do not accept overseas qualifications.
